Year 2

Welcome to Year 2

During Year 2, our focus is on building a positive, supportive classroom where all children feel confident and safe. We will focus on following our class agreement to guide our choices and help us become more independent and take ownership of our learning. Our aim is to nurture curious, confident learners who can explain their thinking, embrace challenges and take pride in their progress.

Through English, we will develop our skills as storytellers by exploring a rich range of literature to inspire our imagination, creativity and love of reading. In Maths, we use the Concrete, Pictorial and Abstract approach (CPA) to deepen our understanding of mathematical concepts, moving from practical resources to visual representations and more abstract methods.
