Welcome to Year 3

Thank you for visiting our Year 3 page. Here you will find termly updates explaining what children will be learning.

As mathematicians, children will begin with place value, then multiplication and division and revisiting knowledge acquired from Year 2 and building upon this further.

With our first topic, ‘Through the Ages’ we will rediscover prehistoric Britain from the Stone Age through to the Iron Age, how people’s lives have shaped this nation and how Britain has influenced and been influenced by the wider world. In Geography, children will describe and understand key aspects of human geography, including: types of settlement and land use, economic activity including trade links, and the distribution of natural resources including energy, food, minerals and water.

We will be looking at a range of texts in English and writing a short narrative, character descriptions and explanation texts.
