I have been part of the school community since my eldest joined in 2005. I initially volunteered and then worked as a Teaching Assistant and also tutored children in Before School Classes. I was at St Johns for almost 10 years and worked in every class from Nursery to Year 6. I love the children at St. John’s and it was a privilege to work with them and watch them grow.
I have been Clerk to the Governors for just over a year and it has been an opportunity to make a contribution outside of the classroom. One thing that comes to mind when I think of the Governors is Oompa-Loompas! Almost invisible but integral to the running of the school. You don’t really see them, they tend to come out after school hours and it’s not quite a sleep over but ten o’clock at night is quite late enough! Being a clerk has definitely given me an appreciation of the hours the Governors dedicate towards the betterment of our children.
