Beverley Anderson

Parent Governor

Elected 2019
I have been part of the St. John’s community since 2006 when I moved to the area with my family. My three boys all attended St. John’s School.

I have had a varied career since moving to London in the 1980s and am now a qualified midwife, working most recently at the North Middlesex Hospital.

I was delighted to be elected as parent governor in 2008 and 2012 and have been able to use my financial skills on Resources and my professional experience on Wellbeing where I am the designated governor with responsibility for safeguarding.

In 2012 I was elected as vice chair where my role is to support the chair and ensure the smooth running of the Governing Body. Prior to that I was involved in the restructuring of our Subcommittees and the move to the new streamlined system which was praised by Ofsted inspectors in 2012.

Training and keeping up to date with developments in education is vital for governors, this enables us to ask challenging questions in an informed and constructive manner and to fulfill our statutory responsibilities.
