Parent GovernorElected – September 2014I joined St John’s Primary School in September 2000, as a new Deputy Head and Y5 class teacher. It was a wonderful first term, working alongside the Head Teacher and getting to know the staff team. …
I have many responsibilities in the school, most notably working alongside the Head Teacher as part of the Leadership Team, as SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), Designated Safeguarding Lead Teacher for Child Protection and Looked After Children (working closely with Beverley Anderson, Governor for Safeguarding), Religious Education Subject Leader and PSHE (Personal, Social, Health, Education) subject leader. I mentor Newly Qualified Teachers (NQT), student teachers and work experience young people.
I prioritise the happiness and well-being of children first and foremost, and am, alongside the Head Teacher, the main point of contact for parents when discussing the needs of their child. I work with the school mentor and with outside agencies to ensure that all needs identified are met.
I bring considerable experience to the job having worked in all key stages and having many areas of responsibility over the years. September 2017 will be my 30th year as a teacher- I am proud and privileged to have served so many children and their families.
